A man was seen grabbing the woman by her hair and neck before pulling her towards a waiting car

Police have issued a major update after a woman was seen being snatched from a Florida street in broad daylight.

Chilling CCTV footage captured a man appearing to kidnap a woman using his pickup truck on New Year's Eve.

The woman was first seen standing alone on West 52nd Street and 27th Avenue in Hialeah, near Miami International Airport.

Behind her, the white truck that she would later be dragged into can be seen stationary.

In the next still, the woman is then seen apparently arguing with a man - before he grabs her by her hair and neck and pulls her towards the white Ford F-150.

Now, police have confirmed that 49-year-old Jose Manuel Gonzalez had been taken into custody.

He now faces charges of kidnapping and domestic battery - with the woman revealed as his partner.

The woman has been located safe and without injuries in Hialeah following what police called a domestic altercation.

Despite the woman being found unharmed, authorities stated that the behaviour shown in the photographs "warrant serious legal consequences."

The pair had been in a relationship for an extended period, according to police.

Police chief George Fuente thanked local residents for their role in the investigation.

"The Hialeah Police Department extends its sincere gratitude to the community for their vigilance and assistance during this investigation," he said.

"Your partnership remains vital in ensuring the safety of our city."

The incident took place at approximately 6.45am on New Year's Eve near an apartment block.

A concerned member of the public called the police after witnessing what appeared to be an abduction.

Security camera footage subsequently confirmed the witness's account, prompting officers to launch an immediate probe.

A resident of the Lake Condominium building told CBS News Miami that she heard the woman screaming.

The building manager's son said he did not recognise the victim - but was shocked by what he saw.

Other neighbours indicated they had previously seen the pickup truck in the area.

Police confirmed the pair were known to each other and that the abduction was not a random act.

The dispute escalated when the woman was visiting acquaintances at the location and Mr Gonzalez arrived, allegedly forcing her into his vehicle.

Authorities have not disclosed what sparked the initial argument.
