US President Donald Trump used his United Nations (UN) address to launch an extraordinary attack on its leaders and Sir Keir Starmer.
Mr Trump appeared to take to the stage in a jovial mood, quipping that whoever was operating a faulty teleprompter is “in big trouble”.

The atmosphere soon turned sour as the US President directed his ire at some of the delegates present.
“I ended seven wars, dealt with the leaders of each and every one of these countries and I never even received a phone call from the United Nations”, he said.
“All I got from the United Nations was an escalator that stopped in the middle. If the First Lady wasn’t in great shape, she would have fallen. But she’s in great shape, and then the teleprompter didn’t work.
“These are the two things I got from the United Nations, a bad escalator and a bad teleprompter.

“It has tremendous, tremendous, tremendous potential, but it’s not even close to fulfilling it.”

Mr Trump also laid bare his frustration at world leaders beginning to recognise a Palestinian state, including British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
The US is a close ally to Israel and has long argued that such an act only serves to embolden Hamas, the Islamist terror group which administers the Gaza Strip.
“Unfortunately Hamas has repeatedly rejected reasonable offers to create peace. We can’t forget October 7”, he said.
“Now, as if to encourage continued conflict, some of this body [UN] is seeking to recognise a Palestinian state. This would be a reward for these horrible atrocities.
Keir Starmer officially recognises Palestinian state - WATCH
“Hamas refuse to release the hostages or accept a ceasefire. They have taken so much and this could have been solved so long ago.”
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said earlier that Britain and its allies have only recognised Palestine because they are “flooded with foreigners”.
He said relaxed migration policies have resulted in an increased pressure on Governments worldwide to support the Palestinian cause.
Mr Rubio accused Sir Keir and other world leaders of giving in to “domestic political pressure”.
The Prime Minister and other world leaders have insisted that recognising Palestinian statehood is necessary to ensure the possibility of a two-state solution remains active.
In a video message on Sunday, Sir Keir said: “Today - to revive the hope of peace and a two-state solution - I state clearly as Prime Minister of this great country that the United Kingdom formally recognises the state of Palestine.
“We recognised the state of Israel more than 75 years ago as a homeland for the Jewish people. Today, we join over 150 countries who recognise a Palestinian state also. A pledge to the Palestinian and Israeli people that there can be a better future.”
