UK weather: Unsettled this week and potentially very windy mid week onwards

Today:

Rain over southern Scotland, northern England and Wales moving slowly southeastwards during the day with some heavy bursts likely. Showers to north, turning wintry over high ground of Scotland later. Breezy.

Tonight:

Dry for many with rain and showers dying out. Band of heavy rain crossing Northern Ireland later, running into mainland UK with strengthening winds and some snow in northern Scotland.

Tuesday:

Band of rain soon clearing to showers for northern and central parts. In south rain lingering for much of the day. Further rain arriving from west later. Windy for many.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Very unsettled with spells of rain and very strong wind for most areas. Mild in the south, especially on Wednesday, but colder in the north with wintry showers at times.
