The woman is among 254 individuals now facing terror charges

A pensioner has been charged with terror offences over their alleged support for Palestine Action.

The 89-year-old woman from Islington was one of 120 pro-Palestine supporters charged over alleged support of the proscribed terror group, Scotland Yard confirmed.

The confirmation takes the total of those charged under the Terrorism Act to 254.

A Met Police spokesman confirmed the charges in an official statement: "Following authorisation from the Crown Prosecution Service, they have all been charged via postal requisition with an offence contrary to section 13 of the Terrorism Act, 2000.

"They are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ court on a series of dates from November 24 to December 9.

"Officers from Counter Terrorism Policing London continue to work through investigations relating to other people who were arrested in similar circumstances in central London during protest events in August, September and October."

An 86-year-old man from Gloucestershire is also among those who now face charges.

According to the Telegraph, thousands of members belonging to the Palestine Action group were planning a coordinated attempt to "overwhelm" police with a flurry of crimes.

Palestine Action was officially classified as a terrorist organisation in July last year, after some of its members broke into RAF Brize Norton and damaged two military aircraft.

Amid protests against the outlaw, the co-founder of the group, Huda Ammori, has been granted permission to challenge the legislation.

Mr Ammori will appear in court this Tuesday in a bid to see the classification declared unlawful and potentially lifted.

Just yesterday, around 50 more pro-Palestine protesters were arrested outside the Ministry of Justice.

This takes the tally to over 1,600 of alleged Palestine Action supporters who have been arrested.

The UK Government has come under increased scrutiny for its classification of Palestine Action.

A further six prisoners, allegedly members of the group, currently awaiting trial, are now refusing food.

Two of those have been on a hunger strike for more than two weeks, and are said to have lost considerable weight.

They demand an end to Israeli weapons firms in the UK, lifting the ban on Palestine Action and improved prison conditions.
