Nicola Sturgeon OUTRAGE: Tories block Scottish gender reform bill in constitutional first
Lesley Martin
The UK Government will move to block a gender recognition law passed by the Scottish Parliament due to concerns over the impact on UK-wide equalities legislation, Scottish Secretary Alister Jack said.
UK ministers harbour fears over how the bill will affect UK-wide equality laws.
Nicola Sturgeon has previously stated a veto on the bill from the UK Government would be an "outrage".
The bill would have made it easier for people to change their legal gender.
