Sandra Hall scooped the jackpot in the Set for Life draw

A carer who won £3.6million on the National Lottery has revealed she will continue working despite her life-changing windfall.

Sandra Hall, 61, from Stoke-on-Trent won £10,000 a month for 30 years on the Set For Life draw on May 8.

The devoted carer, who has spent 19 years looking after others, said she has no plans to give up her vocation.

She matched five main numbers and the Life Ball to secure the top prize, which will see her receive 360 monthly payments totalling £3.6million.

She explained: "It's always been who I am to try and look after others, it's my vocation," Hall explained.

Among her planned purchases is a hot tub engraved with her winning numbers, explaining: "So, when I found out that I'd just won the top prize on Set For Life, I knew my one treat would be a hot tub!

"As for my winning numbers engraved on it, I want to remind myself how lucky I have been every time I take a dip," she said.

Hall's generosity extends to her fiancé John, 59, a farmer who she will marry in April next year.

She said: "He's been needing a new van for work and when I won I immediately put a deposit down on one, and when the first £10,000 landed in my bank account I insisted on paying off the balance.

Hall added that she intends to pay for her sister's new bathroom and install new decking at her mother's house.

She has also recently donated her wedding dress to charity and is looking forward to shopping for a new one for her wedding next year.

The carer said: "If I can help my family and others out I absolutely will and that's one of the most amazing things about winning."

The reality of her win struck home when she received her first payment. "It hit me when the first £10,000 payment landed in my bank account...I've got 359 of these same payments still left to go!"

Hall said the win has opened up endless possibilities for her future, adding: "The possibilities are pretty much endless and I will be treating myself to a few other luxuries soon.

"I'll definitely be booking luxury weekend breaks and it'll be very nice to go shopping and not look at the price for once!"

Despite the life-changing sum, she remains grounded about the impact on her life. "This win is incredible, I'm not sure it's still fully sunk in! You always hope you'll win, otherwise why would you play, but to actually know that I really am set for life is a dream come true for me," she said.

"It won't change me but it will mean that, while I continue to care for others, I can make sure that I also care for myself too."
