In the new poll, more than half of Britons believe that illegal migration is 'putting women at a greater risk'

Women's safety campaigner Paola Diana has declared Britons are "tired of open borders" after a damning new poll on illegal migration.

Speaking to GB News, the Women's Policy Centre Chair said she was "pleased" with the results of the poll, conducted by them, as it "reflects the reality" of the feeling across the country.

The new YouGov poll, commissioned by the Women's Policy Centre, reveals overwhelming public concern about illegal migration and it's impact on women's safety.

According to the data, 93 per cent of people support deporting illegal migrants convicted of rape or other violent crimes, and 67 per cent believe illegal migration is putting women at greater risk.

Discussing the results, Ms Diana told GB News: "I'm really pleased about this poll because it reflects the reality. The nation is tired of these borders being open to everyone.

"And we know that many men who are coming from countries where they do not respect women's rights become rapists and killers.

"And our children, particularly our young girls and women are in danger, so closing the borders is a matter of women's safety."

Criticising political parties for failing to put women's safety "at the top of their agenda", she added: "We want to change the dialogue around this issue because no one in our political parties so far, particularly the Labour Party, ever put women's safety at the top of their agenda.

"They prefer to protect the rights of men coming illegally in this country instead of protecting British women and girls, and this has to stop, this has to change, and the British public is very clear about that."

Calling on the Labour Government to "protect" the nation's women and children, Ms Diana stated: "We have to take action, this Labour Government has to protect us. This is the time for action. They have to stop talking and pretending to be doing something tough because, they're not doing anything.

"Women's rights are at a stake here and women are threatened every day. As a mother, I'm really worried for my daughter every time she goes out from the door. So we have to change the conversation around illegal migration."

She stressed: "Illegal migration is a threat to women's safety, and that's a reality. Data is very clear. I cannot stress enough the fact that cultural norms and religion do not change once these men enter the borders.

"These men, they remain the same. If we look at the countries where they're coming from, as an example Pakistan, we know that they rape a child and a woman every two hours. And we know that the conviction rates for these crimes is very low, two per cent for child abuse and only 0.2 per cent for women's rape.

"And you know why? Because the victims do not go to persecute their abusers. They don't believe in justice.

"They know that many families prefer to keep it quiet and silent, and that's why also the data in our country, does not reflect completely the reality because many of the rape victims, they do not go to the police. We know that."

As host Alex Armstrong argued that Labour would claim they are "doing a better job than the Conservatives" in deporting illegal migrants.

Ms Diana responded: "Yes, they're doing something better than the Tories, but unfortunately we're polling regarding illegal migration.

"But you know why they're doing this, they're doing this because Reform UK now is leading the polls. So everyone knows that the British people are tired of the uni-party and they want to vote for Reform at the next election. And thank God we have Reform."

Praising the rise of Reform, Ms Diana stated: "I tell you the truth Alex, we need someone to protect women and girls in this country, because we are fed up with that.

"We cannot read the news every day that a girl is raped, that a girl is abducted, that a girl or a woman is killed. Enough is enough. Of course also white men and British men can be abusive towards women, we all know that, but why do we need more of them?"
