The GB News presenters sat down with our 2025 Charity Partner

A charity chairman has told GB News of how London taxi drivers have given up their time to support special needs and disadvantaged children.

Antony Moore sat down with People's Channel presenters Stephen Dixon and Penny Smith, who were showing viewers this year's GB News Charity Wall Calendar and Christmas cards - of which 100 per cent of profits go to the London Taxi Drivers' Charity for Children.

With his work backed by Queen Camilla, Mr Moore's charity sees London cabbies take children with special needs or disadvantages out on various day trips, allowing them to enjoy unforgettable experiences with friends and family free of charge.

The organisers set up several events each year, taking the children to the seaside and the zoo, with the rest of the funds going towards funding parties, whether in January or Christmas time.

"Everybody gives up their time, all just so that the kids can have a good time," he told Stephen and Penny. "We've got our Christmas party, or the Mad Hatters Party, that's in January and we've got now 700.

"We've had to limit the numbers this year. We've got 720 children coming at the moment, but they will be entertained by singers, dancers.

"We've got the King's Welsh Guards turning up to give them the dimensions of the dance floor, so they're coming to do in their full regalia."

Mr Moore further explained that the charity supports families by purchasing equipment to make the children's lives easier.

This week, the charity has bought a specially-designed trike for a boy so he can go out with his family for a normal day out.

"You know, we do different things for different children when they're needed."

This year, Mr Moore and his charity are celebrating its 100th anniversary.

First established in 1928, they have sought to help children who were less fortunate, looking to raise money to support any and all appeals they receive.

Lauding the "tremendous legacy", Stephen marvelled at the number of children the charity has supported over the years.

Mr Moore added: "As you can imagine, hundreds of thousands, literally hundreds of thousands. And I say, and it keeps on continuing."

In 2025, he said the charity has supplied two schools with sensory rooms, so that children are able to interact with noises, and experience touch.

Stephen then went on to ask: "How important is it to get funds in through something like this calendar?"

"I think it's a great idea," the chairman responded. "And see the thing with it, every penny that comes in goes to helping children. No taxi drivers, none of the committee.

"Nobody takes a penny from everything comes in. Everything is used for the benefit of children."

Profits from the GB News Wall Calendar available on the GBN Shop will be donated to our 2025 Charity Partner, the London Taxi Drivers’ Charity for Children.
