At least 150 protesters marched down the road waving flags and chanting: 'IRGC terrorists, UK put them on the list'

Protests have erupted in Golders Green following an antisemitic terror attack.

Two Jewish men were stabbed earlier today in what Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer described as "appalling" attack.

Officers were first called to Highfield Avenue at 11.16am to reports of a stabbing in Highfield Road, Golders Green.

Since then, crowds have gathered to show their support for the Jewish community and to protest the Government's response.

At least 150 protesters marched down the road waving flags and chanting: "IRGC terrorists, UK put them on the list".

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has not been proscribed as a terror group by Labour despite widespread calls to take action.

Sir Keir has vowed to proscribe the group in the next parliament after much of the western world had already done so, including the US, Canada, Australia and the EU, while Britain stalled on the matter.

The Prime Minister and the Mayor of London were also subjects of chants from the crowds.

They shouted "Keir Starmer’s a w****r" and "shame on Sadiq Khan".

The protest was organised by campaign group Stop The Hate.

GB News understands protests ended shortly after 8pm.

Most of Golders Green Road has reopened, however, the police cordon remains in place from the corner of Beverley Gardens, where the stabbings took place.

Among those speaking to demonstrators was Richard Tice, deputy leader of Reform UK, Laila Cunningham, the party’s candidate for London mayor.

Chris Philp, the shadow home secretary, who was also present, said: "There is no question our country’s Jewish community is under attack, and all we get from the Government is words. Iran is behind some of these attacks, we need to expel Iranian diplomats and spies.

"There is also evidence that foreign nationals are bringing antisemitic views into this country, so any foreign citizen who expresses antisemitic views, support for terrorism, or support for extremism, should be deported."

A suspect attempted to stab police officers and was tasered before being arrested, in what Scotland Yard have now declared a terrorist incident.

Two men, Nachman Moshe ben Chaya Sarah and Moshe Ben Baila, aged in their 70s and 30s respectively, were treated at the scene for stab wounds.

Both men were taken to hospital and both are in a stable condition.

A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

He was taken into custody, where he remains. Officers from the Met Police confirmed they are working to establish his nationality and background.

Specialist officers from Counter-Terrorism Policing are leading the investigation and working with Scotland Yard to establish the full circumstances.
