The King and Queen arrived at Christie’s in New York City on Wednesday evening to attend the "Greater Together" reception, a cornerstone event of their four-day official state visit to the United States.

Queen Camilla attended the reception wearing a green chiffon leopard print dress designed by Fiona Clare.

The Queen chose to forego special jewellery for the occasion, maintaining a professional and understated appearance as she moved through the galleries to speak with guests.

The engagement served as a high-profile celebration of the enduring cultural and philanthropic ties between the United Kingdom and the United States, timed to coincide with the 250th anniversary of American independence.

The reception brought together a diverse assembly of figures from the worlds of business, the arts, and public service, including Donatella Versace, Katherine Jenkins, Lionel Richie, Anna Wintour, Charlotte Tilbury, Edward Enninful and David Miliband.

The primary focus of the evening was the work of The King’s Trust, the global charity founded by the King in 1976.

This year marked a significant milestone for the organisation, and the New York event highlighted its expansion through The King’s Trust America.

Throughout the evening, the King met with young entrepreneurs and beneficiaries who had been supported by the trust’s programmes.

These are designed to assist disadvantaged youth in finding employment, education, and training opportunities.

In addition to the philanthropic focus, the reception highlighted the "crossover talent" that defines the modern creative relationship between the two nations.

Guests from the film, music, and fashion industries were present to mark the shared heritage and ongoing collaboration that characterises the transatlantic creative economy.

The atmosphere at Christie’s was one of diplomatic and cultural exchange, reflecting the "people-to-people" connections that the state visit sought to reinforce.

The event also featured a literary component, acknowledging the Queen’s ongoing commitment to literacy through her charity, The Queen’s Reading Room.

A specific nod was given to the 100th anniversary of A.A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh, serving as a symbol of the shared literary history that continues to resonate with audiences in both Britain and America.

This followed the Queen’s visit earlier in the afternoon to the New York Public Library, where she had participated in a literacy roundtable.

The "Greater Together" reception followed a sombre morning during which the King and Queen visited the National September 11 Memorial and Museum.

There, they laid a wreath in honour of the victims and met with survivors and first responders, a gesture that set a tone of mutual respect and shared history for the day’s proceedings.
