Musk, ranked by Forbes as the world's richest person, has pledged to unlock the "tremendous potential" Twitter has by promoting more freedom of speech.
His purchase has led to criticism from notable figures such as Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and model Jameela Jamil.
Political commentator Emma Webb has criticised the reaction from the left, stating they are "afraid" about the possibility of political opponents "no longer being censored".
The Tesla CEO's takeover of Twitter has proven to be a contentious topic.

Appearing on GB News, she told Alex Phillips: "We've seen the liberal left completely losing their minds over this. They're afraid their political opponents will be able to express themselves and will no longer be censored.
"We've seen them expressing some of the same concerns that people on the right or classic liberals have been saying for a very long time, which is that we don't want to be censored anymore.
"They are suggesting that this is bad news, I think on the contrary, this is extremely good news."
Musk's buyout of Twitter has been welcomed by many, including founder of the social media platform Jack Dorsey, who has offered his backing in a series of tweets.

Dorsey hailed the decision to let Musk take the social media platform into private ownership and away from the ad model and Wall Street, but others have raised concerns about online safety on Twitter going forward given the billionaire’s belief in absolute free speech.
Online safety campaigners said this could have a “chilling effect” on child safety even after new regulation is introduced to the sector, and some users have announced plans to leave the site because of fears over an increase in potentially harmful speech.
GB News' Dan Wootton has welcomed the Canadian's acquisition of Twitter, saying it is the platform's "final hope to rescue free speech".
He said: "It's very obvious that, for Twitter to ever be taken seriously again, the moment Musk gains control of the toxic cesspit of a platform this autumn he needs to immediately reinstate Trump.
"That's just the start though.
"The number of people silenced for questioning the orthodoxy on the trans debate, Covid vaccines and lockdowns is, quite frankly, terrifying."
