British woman 'raped near beach in India by man who offered massage'

Police confirmed that the 32-year-old suspect was part of a group which illegally offered massage services near the Arambol beach in North Goa district.
The area is popular with international tourists, who flock to the golden sands for mild waves and eateries.
The suspect, arrested on Monday, is believed to be a former librarian.
A Police official told local media: "We have contacted the police station concerned to get his past records. Currently, he is not working as a librarian."
Police stated that a complaint has been lodged by a middle-aged British woman, who is on a trip to Goa.

The report outlined how the woman had been laying near the Sweet Water Lake, located on the perimeter of the beach.
The incident occurred on June 2, but the women reportedly lodged the complaint on Monday, after consulting family members in the UK and following assistance from the British Embassy in India, the police confirmed.
Within an hour of lodging the complaint, the Pernem Police arrested the accused.
On Monday night, the accused and the survivor were sent for medical examination at a district hospital in the region.
