Failure to drink enough water could leave to drivers “failing to have proper control "of their vehicles and therefore causing dehydration symptoms.
Mike Thompson, chief operating officer at Leasing Options told The Express: "When starting your car before a long-distance journey, you may not think drinking an extra glass of water before leaving the house would affect your driving abilities, but you would be wrong."
A maximum £1,000 fine could be given to drivers if they are found to be out of control of their vehicle.
While motorists could face fines of up to £5,000 for not using air conditioning units correctly.
According to rule 237 of the Highway Code, drivers must keep their vehicles “well ventilated,” in a bid to avoid drowsiness.
Failure to do so could leave to drivers not having full control of their cars and therefore eligible to be fined.
