The investigation into the mysterious death of a British expat found dead in his home in Spain, has been closed without explanation, leaving his family fuming.
Relatives of a Brett Dryden, 35, who lived in Mojacar, have expressed anger following the closure of the police investigation into his death.
Mr Dryden's relatives discovered that Spanish authorities had ended their inquiry in September, despite what they describe as compelling evidence pointing to foul play and multiple investigative avenues.
Sandra Dryden, the deceased's mother, has voiced her dismay at the decision to halt the investigation.
Speaking to the Olive Press, she expressed disbelief that the case had been abandoned when indicators suggested her son had been the victim of a violent crime and various leads remained unexplored.
The discovery of the 35-year-old's body occurred in July 2024 at his residence in the province of Almeria.
Authorities encountered a scene marked by bloodstains throughout the property.
Several items were notably absent from the premises when police arrived.

His family are angry that the authorities have closed their investigation
|The deceased's mobile phone and wallet had vanished, along with a significant amount of money estimated at £7,033.
These missing possessions have formed a crucial element of the family's concerns about the nature of Mr Dryden's death.
The combination of the violent scene and the disappearance of valuable items has reinforced their belief that criminal activity was involved.
Mrs Dryden delivered a scathing assessment of the Spanish authorities' handling of her son's case.
