‘I helped a family find their ISA inheritance worth £927,000 – it’s life-changing’
BLANCHARDS
A successful day in the office for Luke Jones is helping Britons find fortunes they never knew they had
A family nearly missed out on £1million as they had no idea the “life-changing” inheritance even existed.
Luke Jones and his team at Blanchards were able to uncover the unclaimed ISA inheritance for the family, changing their lives overnight.
The managing director at Blanchards spends his time conducting lengthy research and investigations into those estates which have been left 'Bona Vacantia' - these are vacant goods or ‘ownerless property’ that eventually passes to the crown if unclaimed.
Blanchards Inheritance Limited are ‘Heir Hunters’ specialising in Genealogy, Probate Research and Beneficiary Tracing.
Mr Jones spoke exclusively with GB News and explained that usually the company is contacted by individuals who need help with an estate after someone has passed away i.e. a family member or neighbor. But other times his team will dig through a government list of unclaimed estates to pick out hidden gems.
Dealing with death is always hard, however there are some cases the Blanchard team have cracked that has uncovered large estates worth over £500,000.

The heir hunter said: “We got in touch with this family, and we found that their estranged brother had passed away and no one knew.
“The family were against us doing any work – saying it was a waste of time and their brother didn’t have any money.”
Mr Jones said he is often met with opposition when contacting family members about any unclaimed estates as there can sometimes be a strained reason why friends or family are unaware an individual has passed away.
But operating on a ‘no win no fee’ basis means the clients often have nothing to lose if no fortune is found.
He continued: “We do get that a lot, when they tell us not to waste our time, but our response is let us in.
“It’s no win, no fee, if we find something, then great. You get your inheritance and if not, you’re no worse off and we’ll just move on.
“We ended up doing an asset search and nothing came back and then eventually we had a response from the financial company they kept their assets with.
“The company found a stocks and shares ISA worth £927,000 in the deceased brothers name which was obviously incredible.
“The brother and sister were so against us doing this in beginning because they thought it was a waste of time, but then they both ended up with quite a large sum of money for their twilight years from their brother’s estate.
“They thought he had nothing.”
The Blanchards team specialise in tracing heirs to estates when somebody has died without a Will – known as Intestacy.
As they are dealing with death, the cases they work on are really sensitive but one thing that makes the job easier for them is “changing someone’s life”.
Luke recalled hearing from a single mother of three who was struggling. She had a lot of on her plate and was dealing with health issues and managing disabilities.
After doing research, the team found she was the sole beneficiary of £500,000 estate.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
“It changed her life and her children’s lives,” he said.
He added: “We want clients we represent to come off better whether that be financially or emotionally, or with family history.”
Over the coming weeks, Blanchards will feature on Channel 4's Key To A Fortune, highlighting the firm’s ability to locate the next of kin of high-value estates and properties.
Some properties they find and deal with are valued in excess of £600,000, highlighting their huge values as well as the overnight wealth of the beneficiaries.
