Barclays, Halifax and Lloyds are among the high street banks closing branches across the UK this month.
Recently, bank branch closures have become increasingly common in the years following the Covid-19 pandemic.
In April 2024 alone, Halifax will close 14 branches, Lloyds is set to shut down 12 bank locations and Barclays is closing 21 locations.
The Bank of Scotland, which is a subsidiary of Halifax, will close one location during this month in a blow to consumers.
Banks and building societies have opted to offer improved digital services instead to meet the changing habits of customers.
However, many communities are at risk of becoming “bankless” in the near future with access to cash services.

Bank branch closures are continuing at an 'alarming rate', according to Which?GETTY Consumer champion Which? has previously warned that three million Britons could be left “cashless” due to the wave of bank branch closures.
Since 2015, over 5,800 banking locations have been shut down which is the equivalent of 54 every month.
For context, more than half of the bank branches which eventually closed down were open at the beginning of 2015.
Sam Richardson, the deputy editor of Which? Money, said: “A closed bank branch isn't just a high street eyesore, but one less place for consumers to go to withdraw cash or access in-person banking services.”
