Tommy Fury announced the name of his baby boy after beating Eddie Hall

Tommy Fury chose a rather memorable way to share his newborn son's name with the world on Saturday night.

As the boxer made his entrance for his Manchester bout against strongman Eddie Hall, fans spotted the name "Midas" emblazoned across his jacket.

When he stripped off the outer layer, the same name appeared stitched onto the waistband of his fight shorts.

It's a fitting reveal for the couple, who love doing things their own way.

Fury had teased earlier in the week that all would become clear during the event, sayinh: "I think I've been asked more about the name than the actual fight."

The pair had welcomed their little boy just days earlier, announcing his arrival on Wednesday with a gorgeous black and white photograph on Instagram.

The snap showed Molly-Mae in her hospital bed alongside Tommy and their three-year-old daughter Bambi, all gazing adoringly at the newest family member.

They captioned it simply: "… and then there were 4."

The post was an instant hit, racking up more than 1.5 million likes in just two hours.

Fellow Love Island star Maura Higgins was among those sending congratulations, commenting: "Congratulations again. So happy for you all."

Molly-Mae had actually hinted at this creative announcement in one of her YouTube vlogs beforehand.

The 26-year-old explained she'd been working on Tommy's fight kit design and wanted to find a way to include their second child, given that Bambi's name always features on his shorts.

"I don't want to leave the second baby off," she said, before floating the idea of using the shorts as their big reveal.

As it happens, the timing worked out perfectly – the influencer's original due date had actually been the same day as Tommy's fight, but their son arrived a little earlier than expected.

The Maebe founder had been quite upfront that their choice would likely raise eyebrows.

Back in March, she told her YouTube subscribers she couldn't wait for everyone to "hate it," acknowledging it was always going to be something different.

"We were never going to call our baby just an ordinary name, that was never going to happen," she said.

Molly-Mae even revealed she'd only ever come across one other child with the same name, describing it as "really quite original."

Of course, the couple faced similar reactions when they named daughter Bambi back in 2023, with the unusual choice dividing fans at the time.
