The retailer's latest fashion finds are designed for the modern man

Marks & Spencer has unveiled a fresh menswear line called Autograph Performance, packed with clever tech designed to facilitate modern living.

The standout piece is a suit that will set shoppers back £199 (£129 for the jacket, £70 for trousers), promising a seamless infusion of "timeless style and modern innovation", redefining smart wear.

Both the jacket and trousers combine expert, refined tailoring with soft, flexible fabrics.

Thanks to "advanced fabrics" such as 360 Flex technology and Tech Wool, wearers can move about freely without feeling restricted, enjoying four-way stretch tailoring and crease-recovery.

You can even chuck it in the washing machine – no more dry cleaning bills.

The whole Performance collection has been created with modern life in mind, whether you're commuting to work, travelling, or just relaxing at the weekend.

And it comes at a great time, as 86 per cent of UK workers now operate in hybrid or fully remote roles.

With around 15 million British men now working in hybrid or remote roles, M&S has spotted a gap in the market for clothes that work just as well at home as they do in the office.

Beyond suits, you'll find chinos that wick away moisture and dry quickly, joggers and shirts with stretchy waistbands, plus polos and tees that boast an antibacterial finish. The trousers also feature bi-stretch fabric for extra comfort.

For knitwear fans, there are extra fine merino wool jumpers made with naturally breathable yarn.

Shoes also receive special treatment in the Autograph Performance range, featuring Smart Step Technology soles with high-density foam that absorbs shock.

The new range builds on Autograph Menswear, which has quadrupled in value over the past three years. It now makes up almost a quarter of all M&S menswear sales.

Hoping for further growth, M&S' latest fashion endeavour is part of the retailer's bigger plan to win over the 35 to 54 age group.

Director of Menswear at M&S, Mitch Hughes, said: "Autograph Performance is a clear statement of intent – that we're serious about driving growth in menswear and delivering innovation that really makes a difference to our customers.

"This edit brings together the very best of our design and technical expertise. We've focused on creating pieces that reflect how men live today and help them move seamlessly between work, travel, and downtime, without compromising on comfort or style.

"From crease-recovery tailoring you can throw in a bag and wear straight after the gym or morning commute, to outerwear engineered for the Great British weather, every piece is made well and made to last with grab-and-go functionality in mind.

"Autograph continues to lead growth in menswear, and this launch marks an important step in how we evolve Menswear at M&S and help our customers look good and feel good."

The launch of Autograph Performance comes just weeks after the retailer introduced a brand-new fashion collection after receiving its "best-ever" style scores.

The Autumn/Winter 2025 collection has now arrived, and shoppers are in for a treat, with 475 womenswear options every month and a 200 per cent seasonal increase in newness across menswear.

Offering cosy knits, hosiery, and occasionwear for all your Christmas parties, M&S has promised to drive style through "newness and modern fits".
