The music mogul found solace in the Cotswolds after years of living at the heart of the city

As a poignant figure in the TV industry, Simon Cowell is no stranger to the luxuries that go hand-in-hand with fame.

The Britain’s Got Talent boss lived in London’s Holland Park for many years before his home faced security threats.

He subsequently traded the townhouse for a secluded property at the heart of the British countryside, making him one of several celebrities who own a home in the Cotswolds.

The music mogul reportedly exchanged on the property at the end of 2021 and lives there with his partner Lauren Silverman and their son Eric.

Soon after completion of the sale, Cowell discovered that moles had left his backyard in ruins, according to The Sun.

Riddled with molehills, the grounds around the £8million mega-mansion had to undergo arduous work to get them back into good shape.

The home is reportedly situated in Chipping Norton, affectionately referred to as a Chippy by locals.

Perched on the highest point in Oxfordshire, the rural town is historically famed in the region for its wool and tweed production.

“Renowned for its antique shops and diverse shopping offers, including a regular market, the lively town centre is always bustling with shoppers and visitors," states the Cotswolds official website.

“There is a good choice of places to eat and top quality entertainment at the ‘wonderful theatre, famous for its pantomime and visiting world-class performers.”

The lively town is home to several festivals around the year, including the well-known Chipping Norton Literary Festival.

Many visitors agree that the area showcases the charm of the Cotswolds with its country pubs and glorious countryside.

A report by Bolthole Retreats states that the area was once chosen as "England's Favourite Village" thanks to its open greens and cottages dating back to the 1700s.
