Status Quo star Francis Rossi lived in a mansion in a quiet part of the UK

Francis Rossi is best known as a singer and musician who found success in the rock band Status Quo.

He bought a property in Surrey in the 1970s that has since soared in value.

Born in London, Francis did not move too far when he bought a property on the Webb Estate in Purley, near Surrey.

The singer first moved to the area in the mid 1970s and bought a large property with a three-acre garden.

The mansion has nine bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a studio and swimming pool.

Francis said he bought the home for £50,000 but said it climbed in value to around £2.75million.

Purley is a great location for those wanting access to city life and to see the stunning British landscapes.

Residents can quickly get to the centre of London and experience all the capital city has to offer.

It is also just a 30 minute drive from the beautiful Surrey Hills where Britons can enjoy a relaxing walk outside.

"As one of London's charming districts, Purley combines the perks of suburban tranquillity with excellent access to the capital's bustling centre," experts at Property Loop stated.

"Purley's captivating blend of nature, history, and architecture offers an array of exciting things to do and visit."

Although celebrities could live anywhere in the world, many choose to reside in peaceful parts of the UK.
