Shoppers have been warned to stop using five varieties of Soulcal & Co Body Mist, as they contain a banned chemical that poses serious health risks.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) issued the recall notice for Raspberry & Lotus Blossom, Mango & Passion Fruit, Apple & Waterlily, Coco Plum & Jacaranda, and Beach Rose & Coconut Water varieties.
The products are sold at the supermarket chain Farmfoods, which has urgently recalled the fragrances and pulled them from sale.
The products contain butylphenyl methylpropional (BMHCA/lilial), a substance prohibited in cosmetics.

Confirming the urgency of the recall, the OPSS warned that it "may harm the reproductive system, may harm the health of the unborn child, and may cause skin sensitisation".
Officials classified the recall as presenting "a serious chemical risk" due to the presence of BMHCA.
This synthetic fragrance compound poses multiple health hazards, with particular concerns for pregnant women and those trying to conceive.

The products fail to comply with Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 and the Cosmetic Products Enforcement Regulations 2013.
Shoppers who have purchased any of the affected body mists must "stop using [them] immediately".
Instead, they should return the products to the seller they purchased from for a full refund.
The OPSS confirmed that "the product has been recalled from end users and withdrawn from the market" as part of enforcement action.
Anyone in possession of these Soulcal & Co Body Mists should return them to their point of purchase without delay.
