Yoga can prove particularly beneficial for those looking to look younger than their years

More often than not, people emphasise the importance of trying to keep your complexion looking youthful as you get older. However, less emphasis is placed on the neck, despite it being one of the most tell-tale signs of ageing.

Instead of pouring hundreds of pounds into potential miracle cures, an 82-year-old's hack to look younger doesn't actually cost a penny - and it has her receiving compliments galore.

In fact, her granddaughter took to TikTok to share the daily face yoga with hundreds and thousands of individuals online, proving that you don't need to slather your visage with skin care products.

She laid out a four-step routine, using her tongue to relax her facial muscles.

The girl, who goes by @yurileeeee on TikTok, captioned the video: "My 82-year-old grandma's daily face yoga exercise to stay young and healthy."

The first step of the routine is designed to prevent neck sagging.

It focuses on the neck and throat muscles, raising your head to look at the sky. Then, open and close your mouth, exercising and relaxing the surrounding muscles.

Step two involves training more throat muscles to develop a sharper jawline.

The second exercise involves sticking out your tongue as far as it can go and bringing it back into your mouth, repeating this motion several times.

In step three, the 82-year-old "irons" out the smile lines to relax facial muscles in the area, noting that this helps to prevent deeper smile lines.

She does this by using her tongue to push the area inside the mouth where smile lines form.

This exercise aims to reduce excessive indentation. Step four involves further "ironing" on that area. Each exercise should be repeated 10 times.

Meanwhile, another commented saying: "My mum has done this for years and people don't believe her age."

Additionally, a yoga instructor has previously told GB News about the multitude of benefits of yoga all over the body - not just your face.

According to founder of Yoga Kawa, Echo Wang, facial exercise can sculpt and tone the face, restoring it to its once youthful appearance.
