A breakfast cereal manufacturer has issued an urgent product recall after discovering dangerous allergens were omitted from packaging labels.
Spoon Cereals' Cinnamon + Pecan Granola (400g) contains both oats, which contain gluten, and peanuts, neither of which appears on the ingredient listing.
In light of this, the product has been pulled from shelves across England to protect those with impacted allergies and intolerances.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) confirmed the recall affects products with best-before dates of May 22, 2026 and May 26, 2026.
Anyone with peanut allergies, gluten intolerance, or coeliac disease faces potential health consequences if they consume the mislabelled granola.
Officials noted that the mislabelling occurred when a co-packer incorrectly packaged a limited quantity of products from batch M5244.
According to the company's customer notice, only a small portion of this particular batch was affected by the error.
The FSA has categorised this as an England-specific alert, with the agency working alongside Spoon Cereals to notify relevant allergy support organisations about the contamination issue.

Customers who purchased the affected granola should avoid consumption and return the product to its original point of purchase for a complete refund. No receipt is required for the return process.
The manufacturer has distributed point-of-sale notifications to retail locations explaining the recall circumstances and providing instructions for concerned customers. These notices detail the specific health risks and outline the refund procedure.
Spoon Cereals reiterated: "This product is a possible health risk to individuals with a peanut or gluten allergy or intolerance, or to those with coeliac disease. If this applies to you, please do not consume."
For queries regarding the recall, shoppers can contact Spoon Cereals directly via email at spoon@spooncereals.co.uk. For information on coeliac disease, visit the NHS website, and for information on allergies, consult Allergy UK.
Salads were recalled across Northern Ireland due to a contamination risk

The safety alert comes as salads sold in Northern Ireland were urgently called back due to a contamination risk.
Shoppers were told not to consume multiple products after health authorities discovered Listeria monocytogenes could be present.
Listeria infection (listeriosis) typically presents with flu-like symptoms, including a high temperature, muscle ache or pain, shivering, nausea, and digestive upset.
More "serious complications", such as meningitis, can develop in exceptional circumstances.
Product recalls and withdrawals must always be taken seriously to ensure customer safety.

About allergy alerts
The FSA stated: "Sometimes there will be a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold.
"Then it might be 'withdrawn' (taken off the shelves) or 'recalled' (when customers are asked to return the product).
"Sometimes foods have to be withdrawn or recalled if there is a risk to consumers because the allergy labelling is missing or incorrect, or if there is any other food allergy risk.
"When there is a food allergy risk, the FSA will issue an Allergy Alert."
