The world number one, speaking to Sky Sports, while being booed by some people in the crowd, said: "It's been a rollercoaster. The first four weeks at the bottom, on the fifth night, I won my first night.

"I had to pick myself up. I think I went to Brighton and had a 79 average. It was tough, I was down bad. I'm here with the trophy.
"After Brighton, I think I came off stage and the incident in Manchester, I was sat at home saying to Faith [his partner]: 'I don't want to do it anymore, just the crowd every week'. I said to her: 'I'm down bad.'"
Littler had to step away for a moment, returning not long after to conclude his interview.
The 19-year-old scooped £350,000 for winning the final and continued to show why he is the best in the world.

While Littler took time to compose himself, Humphries stepped in, saying: "It is emotional, you are playing in these big finals, and it shows you what it means to these players.
"You are on the road for 16 or 17 weeks, and some of the players are lucky that they get to take their family with them, but I'm not one of them. I don't really get to take my family with me, and it is hard work.
"This is what you do everything for - you want that trophy because it feels like it is all worth it in the end."
Reacting to how he played today, the world number two said: "I was just unlucky today.

"I played well - it was a great final. I don't know the stats, but it was one of the best finals the Premier League has seen. I was gutted he didn't miss that double top, but that is just darts.
"I am proud of myself for the way I've come back and got myself to the O2 and given him a good game. That is what I always say, make it tough to beat you. He played a brilliant game so fair play to him.
"I am incredibly proud of myself. I said to myself: 'Just get yourself there', and it is a free run.

Humphries said he looks forward to next year and the upcoming matchplay
| GETTY"I always feel relaxed against him because I know I'm going to have to play well, but a 111 average is a winning mentality, and that is a winner.
"I look forward to next year and the matchplay and trying to get him again and run him close again."
The world number one was taken all the way to the final leg against his fellow Englishman, but with a D20 finish, the 19-year-old has won the Premier League of Darts.
