The recall was issued due to the presence of undeclared allergens

Healthy Fit is recalling Cookies & Cream Protein Bars sold in Lidl stores across Northern Ireland because they contain milk and soya allergens that are not mentioned in English on the product label.

The recall affects 60g protein bars with batch code 002851 and a best-before date of January 2026.

The undeclared allergens pose a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, as well as those with soya allergies.

In their statement, Healthy Fit declared: “If you have purchased the above produce and have an allergy or intolerance to Milk or Soy, we advise you not to consume it.

“Instead, please return the product to a Lidl store for a full refund, with or without a receipt.”

The company has taken action by contacting relevant allergy support organisations and arranging for point-of-sale notices to be displayed in all affected Lidl stores.

These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and provide guidance on what to do if they have already purchased the item.

The Food Standards Agency has also issued an allergy alert regarding the product recall.

Consumers are advised to bring the protein bars back to the store where they were purchased rather than consuming them if they have milk or soya allergies.

The recall follows standard food safety procedures when allergy labelling is missing or incorrect, with the FSA issuing an official allergy alert to warn consumers of the potential health risks.

The recall demonstrates the importance of accurate allergen labelling on food products, particularly for consumers with serious allergies who rely on ingredient information to make safe purchasing decisions.

When food products pose allergy risks due to missing or incorrect labelling, manufacturers must withdraw items from shelves or issue recalls to protect public health.

The FSA regularly issues allergy alerts when there are concerns about undeclared allergens in food products.

These alerts serve as an important warning system for consumers with allergies and intolerances, helping them avoid potentially dangerous products that could trigger serious allergic reactions.

Consumers affected by this recall can contact Lidl stores directly for assistance with returns and refunds of the Healthy Fit Cookies & Cream Protein Bars.
