Brand new crisp flavours will be hitting supermarket shelves next week

Co-op is preparing fans as the supermarket is readying to launch two brand-new crisp flavours that are set to “take shoppers by storm”.

Known as an “iconic” range already, fans will soon be welcoming the snacks that are “perfect for last-minute summer gatherings”, from Thailand to Italy.

Hitting shelves on August 6, Britons will be able to divulge their tastebuds in the tantalising flavours of garlic bread and Thai-style green curry - in the form of tortilla chips and crisps.

Sharing the good news, the supermarket shared: “Garlic bread in a tortilla chip form, what’s not to love?”

Insisting their fans “can’t get enough” of the side dish, Co-op shared that, in 2024 alone, the retailer sold nine million garlic breads.

“Now they’ll be able to get their garlic bread fix even quicker either at home or on-the-go,” the retailer raved.

Shoppers will be able to get their hands on the Limited Edition Garlic Bread Tortilla Chips and the Irresistible Hand Cooked Thai Green Curry Flavoured Crisps, both on offer for £1.25 for Co-op members until August 19.

Co-op added that the tortilla chips are “paired perfectly with a salsa dip or simply on their own”.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

Meanwhile, the Thai-style crisps are inspired by the "distinctive flavours” of the nation’s green curry.

Lovingly crafted with cream coconut milk blended with ground spices including ginger, coriander and bird’s eye chilli - and a “refreshing hint of lime”.

Made from 100 per cent British potatoes, the snacks “offer a rich depth of flavour with savoury and sweet notes to balance out the spice”, ideal for those who enjoy a “kick to their crisps”.

Product Developer for CSN at Co-op Jonathan Williamson said: "It’s a well-known fact that Co-op’s crisps have a cult following and I’m confident that these new flavours will be proper crowd pleasers that our members and shoppers will love.

“I’m particularly proud of the tortilla chips, as we’ve captured the iconic flavour to perfection and you can taste delicious buttery garlic bread in every single crunch.”

The retailer recommended exercising haste as the limited-edition treats won’t be around forever.
