Fans are sure to be delighted to hear their favourite spread is here to stay

Aldi's cult-favourite Specially Selected Pistachio Crème has made a rampant return to stores today as a permanent fixture, following unprecedented demand that saw the £1.79 spread selling at one jar every three seconds.

The budget supermarket confirmed the 200g jar will no longer be a limited-edition item after the sweet treat fans mounted social media campaigns pleading for year-round availability.

The spread, which originally launched in November 2024, became a "sell-out sensation", Aldi claimed, with customers queuing to secure jars during previous limited releases.

Crafted with finely ground nuts, the sweet and creamy spread has proven particularly popular as a topping for croissants, pastries and ice cream.

Customer enthusiasm reached fever pitch on social media, with one shopper declaring: "Can't it be stocked all year as it's so popular!"

Meanwhile, another satisfied customer proclaimed: "Absolutely the nicest spread I've ever put on my toast. I'm going back to Aldi now!"

The German-owned discount chain appears to have heeded these pleas, transforming what began as a limited-edition offering into a permanent addition to their Specially Selected range.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

Previous releases saw shelves stripped bare within hours, leaving disappointed customers empty-handed and prompting widespread calls for the retailer to maintain consistent stock levels.

The versatile spread offers British households an affordable luxury at just £1.79, positioning itself as a premium alternative to traditional nut butters.

Aldi describes the product as a "perfectly sweet and creamy topping" suitable for spreading on croissants and pastries, or even dolloping onto ice cream.

The fan-favourite composition has created a smooth texture that has captured the imagination of home bakers and dessert enthusiasts across the nation.

Available in all Aldi stores from today, the permanent stocking ensures customers need no longer fear missing out on what has become one of the retailer's most sought-after products.

Aldi isn't alone in its quest to appease persistent pistachio lovers, with supermarkets, including Waitrose, launching their own version of the creamy spread.
