A content creator has spoken of the five manageable habits that helped her reach her goal weight

Significant weight loss conjures images of strict dietary restraint and rigorous exercise. But in practice, people can find this approach hard to maintain over time, causing their progress to stall.

Taking a more measured approach may allow people to tailor their habits to their goals as they change, setting the stage for a more sustainable lifestyle.

Taking to TikTok, content creator Anna Sophia recently spoke of the habits that helped her drop 1st 10lb in 12 weeks, after years of watching her weight yo-yo.

"I recently went from weighing 65kg to 56kg in just under 12 weeks," she shared in a recent video, reflecting on what she described as key mistakes.

She incorporated a daily routine of nutritional supplements, taken first thing in the morning before eating, along with a workout supplement and electrolytes.

"I take Oxyshred before every single workout so that I can optimise the amount of calories that I can burn and ensure I'm also getting a really good sweat on," she noted.

Protein has also become a core component of Annabel's diet, with a target intake of at least 140grams a day. And when she can't hit this number with animal products alone, she supplements with powder.

In terms of exercise, Annabel stuck to a programme encompassing sculpting routines, but perhaps the simplest habit she swears by is walking. She now aims for 10,000 steps a day, but often surpasses 15,000 or even 20,000.

"Just walk everywhere. Walking makes such a difference," she said.

The final piece of Annabel's transformation is proper rest, which she insists is non-negotiable when undertaking drastic changes to your fitness. Sometimes, she tries to get up to 10 hours of sleep, she admitted.

"Rest is so important. Your body recovers when you're resting," she explained. "And as I said, you can't do exercise, 10,000 steps, eat healthy, do all of that, go go go, if you're not resting properly."

While Annabel advocates for a more sustainable and gradual approach to weight loss, the internet still glorifies hustle culture.

The NHS echoes Annabel's advice, however, noting that: "Making small, simple changes to what and how much you are eating and drinking can really help you lose the pounds."
