Honda is preparing to unveil a new Honda 0 Series model at CES 2025 in Las Vegas in January having shown off two concept models at the 2024 event.
The two concept models - the Saloon and the Space-Hub - are hoped to act as the flagship models of the brand. The Saloon is expected to launch a production model in 2026.
Honda also announced plans to introduce a total of seven Honda 0 Series models globally by 2030, including all vehicle sizes for different types of motorists.
Honda is aiming to limit the degradation of battery capacity and range to less than 10 per cent after 10 years of use by analysing data from five million Honda vehicles.
In 2021, Honda put Level 3 automated driving equipment into practical use with the launch of the all-new Legend, allowing motorists to make use of "eyes-off" technology.
The brand also announced that it would further advance its AD/ADAS technologies using high-precision sensors and original Honda AI.
The AI technology will learn the behaviour of drivers to allow the system to accurately predict risks and smoothly avoid them, even when driving on roads that are new to the motorist and vehicle.
Honda is also striving to become the first company in the world to expand the application of eyes-off functions to all driving situations and provide safer AD/ADAS.
At present, Honda only has one fully battery electric vehicle on the UK market - the e:Ny1 SUV - which starts from £40,645.
The small SUV has a battery range of around 256 miles and can charge from 10 to 80 per cent battery in approximately 45 minutes, with Honda modelling it as the "ideal urban family SUV".
Honda also has the CR-V e:PHEV plug-in hybrid SUV on the market, as well as hybrids including the HR-V, Jazz, CR-V e:HEV, ZR-V and Civic.
According to data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), Honda has sold 26,959 vehicles in the UK so far this year, making up 1.78 per cent of the total market share.
