Motorists have been warned they face major disruption this weekend as all slip roads at M25 junction 10 get ready to close from 9pm tonight until 6am on Monday morning.
The closure means drivers will be unable to exit or join the M25 or A3 at the Wisley interchange, though both motorways will remain open for traffic.
National Highways confirmed the gyratory closure is necessary to allow work on the M25 element of the £317million junction improvement scheme to be completed sooner.
The agency said it "strongly advises" drivers to follow official diversion routes to avoid congestion on local roads or consider alternative routes such as the M3 to bypass the area entirely.

National Highways has published detailed diversion routes for affected journeys, with motorists travelling eastbound urged to follow the A320 towards the Six Crossroads roundabout junction with the A245 Woking.
From here, they should then take the A245 through Sheerwater, West Byfleet and Byfleet to join the A3 at Painshill Junction.
For westbound M25 traffic needing the northbound A3, drivers should follow the A243 towards Malden Rushett and Chessington, then via the A309 Kingston Bypass and A307 towards Esher before joining the A245 to Painshill Junction.
Southbound A3 traffic requiring the M25 should exit at Painshill junction and follow the A245 through Byfleet towards Woking, taking the A320 to junction 11.
Drivers will have to follow diversions this weekend to avoid delays
NATIONAL HIGHWAYSThe closure will impact all slip roads off the junction, preventing vehicles from leaving either the clockwise M25 towards Heathrow or the anticlockwise carriageway towards Gatwick.
Drivers travelling on the A3 in both directions will similarly be unable to exit at junction 10. While the M25 and A3 will remain open for traffic, motorists will be unable to access the junction from any direction.
Adding to the disruption, Surrey County Council stated that it will simultaneously close the A320 between Ottershaw and St Peter's roundabouts from 5am on Saturday, June 14 until 5am on Monday, June 16.
National Highways shared: "We strongly advise drivers to stick to the official diversion routes to avoid congestion on local roads. Alternatively, please consider taking another route entirely, such as the M3, to avoid the area completely."
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
The A320 closure forms part of Surrey County Council's £41.8million improvement scheme funded by Homes England's Housing Infrastructure Fund.
The council stated the closures are needed to divert underground services that lie beneath Guildford Road.
For the A320 diversion, northbound traffic will be directed via Murray Road, Spinney Hill and into Addlestone along Church Road and Station Road.
From here, drivers have been advised to turn left onto the A317 Woburn Hill and join St Peter's Way towards St Peter's Hospital, while southbound traffic will follow the reverse route.
All slip roads near junction 10 of the M25 will be closed on the weekend
PAThe council warned that roads around the A320 and diversion routes are expected to be busy during the closures, with drivers urged to plan ahead.
It also advised motorists to check traffic conditions before setting off and allow extra time for journeys, particularly when travelling to St Peter's Hospital.
The junction 10 improvements are part of a four-year project to reduce congestion and improve safety at one of the UK's busiest motorway interchanges.
Further weekend closures are scheduled, with the A3 between junction 10 and Painshill set to close between June 20 and 23 June and again between July 4 and 7.
