One of the UK's leading chargepoint operators has taken matters into its own hands by challenging the perception of electric vehicles with a bold new strategy.
Chargepoint operator char.gy has launched a new campaign to highlight the benefits of electric car ownership after recent data identified a gap in awareness and knowledge of EVs.
Research found that 72 per cent of people who rejected the idea of owning an electric car admitted that they didn't know where they would be able to charge.
To tackle these issues, char.gy is collaborating with the new Hollywood blockbuster TRON: Ares to help people learn more about switching to an EV via electric "digi-vans".

Across the UK, char.gy is the fourth biggest chargepoint operator with 4,437 chargers, with plans to expand its charging network further over the coming years.
A recent char.gy report - "What Everyone Should Know About EVs" - found that 40 per cent of the UK population does not have access to a driveway.
Urban renters and those living in flats could be left behind in the transition to electric vehicles, with on-street charging options being crucial for these motorists.
Olivia Crossman, Marketing Manager at char.gy, said the operator was always looking for new ways to interact with drivers about the future of electric vehicles.

She continued: "While TRON: Ares' futuristic digital world is imagined, the reality of electric driving is already here - and we want to ensure everyone can plug into it."
The campaign comes as September saw a record number of electric vehicles being registered, with just under 70,000 cars sold, helping EVs capture 23.2 per cent of the market share.
The data, from New AutoMotive's Electric Car Count, found that EVs continued to eat into the market share of petrol and diesel vehicles.
With the switch to electric vehicles becoming a reality for thousands of drivers every month, manufacturers around the UK are achieving their Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) mandate targets.
This requires automakers to have electric car sales make up at least 28 per cent by the end of the year, before reaching 80 per cent by 2030.
Data shows that the year-to-date share of electric cars is 22.16 per cent, compared to the effective 21.76 per cent target, once CO2 credits are taken into account.
Commenting on the latest data, Fiona Howarth, Founder and Director of Octopus Electric Vehicles, said: "Another standout month for EVs: sales are climbing, in line with previous months, market share is rising, and the sector is right on track with government targets.
"With nearly one in four buyers now choosing electric, EVs are on the verge of overtaking petrol."
