Drivers are being warned of a new recall from three major brands which could see motorists involved in major accidents if they are not fixed soon.
Major car brands are required to inform drivers and transport bodies if they have anything wrong with their vehicles that could result in accidents.
If an issue does arise, the manufacturer will usually always arrange for the repair to be completed for free, with drivers largely removed from the process.

The manufacturing giant announced that it would be recalling 456,565 vehicles over fears they could fail to detect a low battery charge.
According to a notice, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said this could lead to a loss of engine and electrical power while driving.
Vehicles featured in the recall include Bronco Sport SUV models between 2021 and 2024, as well as the Maverick pickup trucks manufactured between 2022 and 2023.

There are fears that the issue could also cause some electrical accessories to not function properly, including the hazard lights.
To deal with the issue, dealers in the United States will recalibrate the body control and powertrain control modules for free.
Owners of the affected vehicles are expected to receive a notification letter in mid-May, with drivers urged to contact Ford customer service.
Ford was also required to recall 43,000 Bronco Sport Escape SUVs amid concerns that gas leaks could cause fires.

The NHTSA announced that it had upgraded its probe into reports of "unexpected activation of automatic emergency braking systems" in almost three million vehicles.
It said that it had received complaints from almost 3,000 customers, in addition to 93 injury incidents and 47 crashes involving Honda cars.
A Honda spokesperson told the Reuters news agency that it would cooperate fully with the investigation.

The Toyota Prius is being recalled in Japan

The Japanese manufacturer has recalled more than 135,000 of its popular Prius hybrid models after a problem with rear door handles was identified.
Drivers with vehicles manufactured between November 2022 and April 2024 may be impacted by the recall, although no accidents have been recorded as a result of the fault.
It has not yet been confirmed whether any Prius models sold outside of Japan are also being recalled, Reuters reported.
