Drivers are being warned of recalled car items that could put themselves or their loved ones at risk amid fears that products could cause serious issues.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards has issued several notices for products that may pose a danger, including an electric bike that was blocked from being imported at the border.

Electric bike

The Office for Product Safety and Standards has issued a product safety report for the brand G-FORCE and its DE-S electric bike.
Local Authority Trading Standards confirmed that the import had been rejected at the border over fire fears.
The report states that there is a serious risk of fire because the plug adaptor supplied does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363 and cannot make a secure connection with a UK plug socket.
If the device is used, the adaptor can overheat and catch fire over time, as the supplied plug does not have a capacity for a fuse.

A fuse is required to "ensure the safe operation of the product under fault conditions, and its absence could lead to the plug exploding and/or catching fire".
The report adds: "The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 or the Plugs and Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994."

The first recall from Maxi-Cosi is for the Family Fix Slide Pro Base, which calls on customers to "stop using the product immediately".
Recall documents state the product presents a risk of injuries because the indicator may display "green" even when the car seat is not fully attached to the base.
As a result, people may assume the seat is properly connected when it isn't, potentially leading to the seat moving or detaching, which could injure the occupant.
The Chinese-made product manufactured between September 6, 2025, and March 24, 2026, does not meet the requirements in the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
The company stated: "During a recent user test conducted as part of our continuous improvement efforts to enhance ease of use, we identified a potential misuse scenario involving a visual indicator on our new Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix base.
"We have initiated a voluntary product recall as part of our ongoing commitment to the highest possible standards of child safety, product quality, and ease of use."
Drivers concerned about their product should enter their product model reference and manufacturing date on the Maxi-Cosi website.
Maxi-Cosi stated that the safety of children is integral to "every decision we make", adding that the product recall is voluntary.
