The HR professional from Leeds had been suffering from a rare and aggressive form of bile duct cancer

A 25-year-old woman announced her own death on LinkedIn, telling her fiancé to "go enjoy life" in a heartbreaking post.

Daniella Thackray, an HR professional from Leeds, had her family post a final message she had written in advance of her death due to a rare and aggressive form of bile duct cancer, known as cholangiocarcinoma.

“If you’re reading this then it means I have died from my battle with cancer and my family are posting my final message on my behalf,” began the post published on LinkedIn last Friday.

“So with that being said, although we can’t control what happens to us, we can control how we react. I chose not to mourn the life I was losing despite being so devastated, but to instead enjoy every moment I had left,” the young woman wrote.

The 25-year-old declared how she "loved my life" despite suffering from a "horrid cruel disease" in the poignant post that has garnered nearly 40,000 likes and more than 3,000 comments.

"In my case, despite me being very healthy and active, a cancer started in my bile ducts which was not caused by anything in my control and my life was never the same again.

"Cholangiocarcinoma is a rare aggressive cancer with often no obvious causes and no cure," Ms Thackray wrote.

Cholangiocarcinoma is a rare type of cancer that develops in the bile ducts, small tubes that connect the liver and gallbladder to the small bowel.

In England, around 2,800 people are diagnosed each year, according to Cancer Research UK.

The young woman said she hoped more research could be done on bile duct cancer "so that more lives can be saved".

The 25-year-old urged readers to "do whatever makes you happy and don't let anyone take the joy of life away from you", adding "everything I had achieved was what I wanted".

She continued: "I loved my job, my fiancé, my family, my friends and my dog, and the house we were going to buy and the future we were making for ourselves."

Ms Thackray signed off with touching quote from Disney character Winnie the Pooh as a tribute to her partner Tom: “If ever there is a tomorrow when we’re not together, there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart… I’ll always be with you.”

The young woman added: “I love you and always will. Thank you for supporting me and bringing so much love and happiness into my life. Go enjoy your life now, you deserve it.”
