X Factor star Cher Lloyd has taken to Instagram to share a worrying update following an incident on the road while she and her two young children were inside her car.
The 30-year-old mum-of-two shared with her fans the horrific incident in which she claims her "brakes totally failed" and admitted she'd have to "retire" the car involved.
Lloyd posted a photo of her black Ford Ranger before the incident before she delved into the details in the accompanying caption.
She penned: "This is my Ford Ranger. My brakes totally failed with no warning while driving with my baby and my 5yr old.
"Total engine failure due to the wet belt. To anyone who owns one or is thinking of buying one, BEWARE!"
Allaying fears about her and her children's wellbeing, Lloyd concluded: "I’m counting my lucky stars that my family is safe.

"This beautiful vehicle however, has retired well before her time," she signed off.
Before long, fans rushed to share their relief with the singer as well as console her following the terrifying accident.
One follower penned: "Thank goodness you’re all ok, can only imagine how terrifying that was especially with your precious cargo on board."
"Omg cher can't imagine how terrifying it is.. thank god u all are okay," a second added before a third echoed: "That's terrifying especially with your littles in the car! Thank goodness you guys are ok!"
Elsewhere, a fourth added: "This happened to us as well with our babies in the car!! Ford couldn’t have cared less! There’s a group on Facebook dedicated to exactly this with thousands of people on it…. It’s just so so awful."
And a fifth shared their relief: "Thank the universe you and your babies are okay." (sic)
Lloyd welcomed her youngest daughter, Eliza Violet, back in September 2023 while she's also the mum to five-year-old Delilah-Rae.
Lloyd continues to make music but has taken a step back from the spotlight in recent years after shooting to household stardom thanks to her stint on the X Factor.

Lloyd was just 16 years of age when she first took to the stage in front of Simon Cowell, Cheryl Tweedy, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue on the X Factor.
She made it all the way to the live finals of the former ITV singing contest before bowing out in fourth place.
