It follows the 26-year-old's brutal social media outburst

Victoria Beckham has taken to social media for the first time since son Brooklyn's bombshell claims about the family.

Eyes have been on the 51-year-old after husband David subtly addressed the incident on Tuesday.

He offered a statement about children "making mistakes" on social media.

Taking to Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Mrs Beckham posted an old photo of herself and fellow Spice Girl Emma Bunton to mark the singer's birthday.

Ignoring the public drama surrounding her family, the fashion designer shared a black and white snap of herself and Ms Bunton, writing: "Happy birthday @emmabunton I love you so much!!"

On Monday evening, Brooklyn finally broke his silence directly about the rift with his family, with the aspiring chef having posted a six-page statement with scathing claims about his issues with the Beckhams.

In the brutal statement, he claimed he had been "controlled" by his family and that they care only about the "Beckham brand".

Hitting back at his brother Cruz's claims that he had "blocked" the whole family on social media, he alleged that he was not the instigator of the snub, instead claiming that his siblings were encouraged to attack him online before cutting him off themselves.

The eldest Beckham brother also detailed how his fashion designer mother, Victoria, had cancelled making Nicola's wedding dress at the last minute, and claimed his wedding had been ruined by his mother's behaviour.

"My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance, to a romantic love song," he penned.

The claim continued: "In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me.

"She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone.

"I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.

"We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment."

While he had plastered a smile on his face during a public appearance on Tuesday, Sir David seemed far from his worry-free self.

He refused to answer a question from Sky about whether he had a message for his son and if he was disappointed about the public nature the rift had taken, not responding to the prompt.

However, the 50-year-old later said his children had "made mistakes" on social media during a TV interview.

He stated: "I have always spoken about social media and the power of social media... For the good and for the bad.

“What kids can access these days, it can be dangerous. But what I have found personally, especially with my kids as well, use it for the right reasons.

“I’ve been able to use my platform for my following, for Unicef."
