Tina Daheley has announced she is stepping away from Radio 2 Breakfast after more than seven years on air.
The BBC newsreader shared the news in an emotional Instagram post on Tuesday, reflecting on nearly two decades of early-morning broadcasting across the radio networks.
Ms Daheley wrote: "After more than 7 years of early alarm calls on Radio 2, I'm stepping away from Radio 2 Breakfast.
"It's been one of the greatest privileges of my life to wake up with you every morning, and humbling to have been trusted to deliver the news on the biggest breakfast show in Europe.

"My breakfast run ends at Radio 2, but it all started on 1Xtra, where I landed my dream job reading the news on Trevor Nelson's Breakfast Show.
"From there, I spent a decade broadcasting to 1 in 4 young people in the UK on Radio 1."
The broadcaster continued: "After 18 years and six back-to-back breakfast shows (probably a record in there somewhere), I'm looking forward to a lie-in.
"Wishing Sara and her team the very best of luck. I'll be tuning in while doing the school run.

"I'm not leaving Radio 2, you'll hear me between 12-2pm when Jeremy's away and you'll see me on BBC One after the summer.
"Beyond that, watch this space..." (sic)
The announcement comes ahead of Sara Cox's launch as the new host of the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, with the presenter set to take over the flagship programme next month.
Ms Daheley's departure marks the end of an era for Radio 2 listeners, with the journalist having become a familiar voice on the breakfast programme since joining the station in 2019.

She previously worked alongside Zoe Ball before continuing in the role under Scott Mills, who fronted the show until his dramatic exit from the BBC earlier this year.
Ms Daheley's post was quickly flooded with messages of support from listeners and fellow broadcasters.
Radio presenter Owain Wyn Evans responded with five heart emojis, while Channel 5 presenter Dan Walker wrote: "All the best, Tina."
It's A Sin creator Russell T Davies also shared three heart emojis, while Dermot O'Leary praised her lengthy breakfast radio career, commenting: "Congrats Tina, great shift x."
Scott Mills was dismissed by the BBC in March | PAAnita Rani added a single heart emoji in support.
Fans were equally emotional about the news, with one writing: "You're simply one of the best. Sending much love."
Another commented: "Sorry to hear BBC Radio 2. I'm sure you'll be very much missed by listeners!"
Sara Cox will replace Scott Mills | GETTYA third added: "Aww I'll miss hearing you with Ellie and Gary in the mornings. I've been loving the dynamic of the show, best of luck for everything your future holds."
