Pop star Pink rang in the new year from a hospital bed following surgery to have two discs replaced in her neck.
The American singer posted a photograph on Instagram showing herself smiling despite a large bandage visible on her neck, delivering an optimistic message to fans as 2026 began.
"I am so happy to say goodbye to the snake year and welcome in the horse. I am leaving behind all of my hurt in 2025," she wrote.
The performer spent New Year's Eve alone in the hospital whilst her husband, Carey Hart, and their two children enjoyed a snowboarding trip together.

The 46-year-old, whose real name is Alecia Moore, is renowned for performing daring aerial stunts suspended from high wires during her concerts.
Reflecting on her procedure, she quipped that "rock 'n' roll is a contact sport" whilst describing her new implants.
"It may not be a fancy Face lift, but I am getting two new shiny discs in my neck," she told her 11.4 million Instagram followers.
The Philadelphia-born artist described her surgery as "a new scar, a new reminder, that I appreciate this vessel that I have and use it for all its worth."
Pink described 2025 as "a doozy" that spanned "from absolutely devastating to mildly annoying" whilst acknowledging there had also been considerable beauty throughout the year.
"I choose joy and I leave behind the hurt. I'm going to choose positive thoughts over negative ones," she declared.
The singer expressed confidence about the months ahead, stating: "As I sit here by myself on New Year's Eve in a hospital room while my family is happily snowboarding- I know that 2026 is going to be better because that is the choice that I have made."
She pledged to "rage against the dying of the light" and continue searching for brightness despite experiencing darkness.

Pink has been married to motocross star Carey Hart, 50, since 2006. The couple have two children together: daughter Willow, aged 14, and nine-year-old son Jameson.

In her New Year's message, Pink vowed to dedicate herself to protecting others' freedoms in the coming year.
