Maya Jama has spoken publicly for the first time about her separation from Manchester City defender Ruben Dias, describing herself as someone who commits fully to romance.
The 31-year-old Love Island presenter responded to a clip from the podcast Cocktails and Takeaways, which had been discussing her relationship breakdown.
"Truth is even when I tried to keep my relationships private we get photographed anyway," she wrote beneath the video.
"I'm an all or nothing girl, I don't casually date, so yes I will love loudly or not at all and if it ends it ends, I decided a long time ago not to base personal life decisions on public opinions." (sic)

Her comment attracted more than 2,500 likes within 24 hours.
The Portuguese centre-back has also issued a lengthy statement on Instagram refuting claims of infidelity during their 18-month relationship.
"I feel that when my 85-year-old grandad is asking me if I've cheated on my girlfriend because he's seen it repeatedly on the news, that's where I draw the line on what's acceptable and what's not," Mr Dias wrote.
He insisted their partnership had been founded on mutual respect and that no boundaries were ever violated.

"A lie told often enough can start to feel like the truth and for that reason I tell you that I didn't cheat, nor did I ever have the intention or temptation to," he added.
Mr Dias maintained that the actual reasons behind their separation remain private, stating both parties had handled matters maturely.
Despite his denials, Mr Dias has faced accusations of "toe-dipping" on social media whilst still in a relationship with Ms Jama.
The practice involves following attractive users online to gauge their interest, then unfollowing if they fail to reciprocate.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Maya Jama is the face of Love Island
| GETTYReports suggest the footballer employed this technique in March with model and bridal designer Catarina Duraes, unfollowing her within 24 hours when she did not follow back.
A similar approach was allegedly used with a Scottish woman named Claire in November 2025.
A source told The Sun: "It might just seem like a simple follow online but it's the intention behind it, following someone to see if they follow back and interact, and always doing it late at night – it's seedy."
However, there is no suggestion Mr Dias was unfaithful during his time with Ms Jama.

Ruben Dias currently plays for Manchester City
| GETTYThe couple first crossed paths at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Manchester and made their romance Instagram official in May 2025 when Ms Jama shared photographs from a holiday on the Amalfi Coast.
They were also spotted together at KSI's Baller League event in March and April 2025.
Their split in April came after 18 months together, with both subsequently removing images of each other from their social media accounts.
Ms Jama has since kept busy with numerous professional commitments, returning to host Love Island on Monday evening as the new series launched.
She has also been filming The Celebrity Traitors in Inverness and recently became the face of Agent Provocateur Swim 2026.
