The London-born singer apologised for her candid outburst

Singer Lola Young sparked some mayhem at the Grammys as she took to the stage to accept her award for Best Pop Solo Performance.

The 25-year-old dropped a couple of F-bombs which weren't all picked up by the show's censors during the glitzy ceremony which took place overnight in the US.

Ms Young, who had secured the accolade for her hit Messy, eagerly took to the stage but admitted she had nothing prepared to say.

"I have no idea what to say because I didn’t have any speech prepared," she told audiences.

She quipped: "Obviously I don't, it’s messy, do you know what I mean? I don't know what to say. Thank you so much."

She was then briefly censored before her audio seemed to connect back just as she stated: "F***ing," before realising and adding: "Sorry, sorry, sorry!"

She went on: "My face... I’m very, very grateful for this. I love you everybody, everybody, everybody."

The Brit, who was born and raised in South London, appeared mortified by the blunder, with the missed censoring surprising given that earlier in the show, numerous parts of Sabrina Carpenter's opening song Manchild had been bleeped out.

Despite the error, the night will have come as a welcome triumph for Ms Young, who has been suffering with undisclosed health issues recently.

In September, she experienced a medical emergency while performing and collapsed on stage at the All Things Go festival in New York.

Taking to social media later that night, she assured fans she was "doing okay now".

Just days later though, she cancelled upcoming performances, telling fans on Instagram: "I really hope you’ll give me a second chance once I’ve had some time to work on myself and come back stronger."

Meanwhile, the Grammys also saw several passionate speeches blasting the current political climate in the US.

Bad Bunny seized his acceptance speech for Best Música Urbana Album to address the immigration crisis.

The Puerto Rican artist declared "ICE out" before the audience, prompting celebrities to rise in what became the ceremony's first standing ovation.

"We are not savage, we are not animals, we are not aliens, we are humans and we are Americans," the singer told the crowd after receiving his award from presenters Marcello Hernández and Karol G.

He urged listeners to resist hatred, stating: "The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love." The artist concluded by calling for resistance through compassion rather than animosity.

Demonstrations against the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement have swept across all 50 American states following the deaths of eight people during agency raids.

The protests have seen clashes between demonstrators and police in cities including Los Angeles, where federal agents deployed tactical gas against crowds gathered outside detention facilities.

Minneapolis has emerged as the focal point of unrest after Renee Good and Alex Pretti were killed by federal immigration agents.
