Kirstie Allsopp has launched a debate on X after labelling parents needing tips to cope with their children's exam period as "pathetic."
The Location, Location, Location presenter responded to reports, guiding parents through the tense period, with some calling for more support to be available to them during exam time.
An LBC report argued "nobody talks about mum and dad" during their children's exams.
It read: "Research conducted by MyEdSpace, the online learning platform, has found that as many as one in four parents suffer from regular sleepless nights during exam season."

| PAMs Allsopp, responding to a similar report on BBC Radio 4, penned on X: "Being 'stressed out' by your kids' exams is the ultimate example of modern parenting, and it’s pretty pathetic, we are not the ones taking the exams and we are adults."
She ended the post: "It's self-indulgent and unhelpful @BBCr4today."
Her argument divided followers, with one responding: "If you have a neurodivergent child, it can be incredibly stressful."
Replying, the property presenter wrote: "I have a neurodivergent child and stepchild and all the more reason to keep calm and carry on."

One fumed: "Oh for goodness sake. Surely there's a nuanced position of parents just being stressed because it’s a stressful time.
"Just because our parents didn’t really go through this doesn’t mean they did things properly and we are helicopter parents."
Ms Allsopp responded once again, hitting back: "Or it does."
Another fan shared: "Unless you are a parent of young people with SEND and the placement has no doubt forgotten to put access arrangements in place yet again, and you can’t get through to anyone to find out."

One more added: "And concern for their mental health if exams go wrong is self-indulgent and unhelpful, is it?"
Another understood Ms Allsopp's point, writing: "Took my O levels 1973 & A levels 1975, my parents didn’t even know I was taking exams.
"Half the pressure these days is generated by parents. However, as a teacher, I believe today’s children ARE over-tested. BTW it’s #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek & #SATs you couldn't make it up." (sic)

He went on to claim that research had found 45 per cent of parents are "more stressed about exams" than their children.
The statement on X isn't the first controversial post Ms Allsopp has made in recent weeks, with some recent political views also prompting division.
Earlier this month, she branded female Green voters "economically moronic" following the local council election results.
