Joel Dommett has opened up on the emotional off-camera moment he had whilst filming for the new ITV show, Celebrity Sabotage.
Celebrity Sabotage is a hidden-camera-style reality game show where contestants think they’re competing in a business series called The Applicant, hosted by entrepreneur Sara Davies.
In reality, the show is secretly being sabotaged by a group of celebrities—including Joel Dommett, Judi Love, Sam Thompson, and GK Barry—who are given missions to disrupt the contestants without getting caught.
From a hidden HQ, the celebrities carry out chaotic pranks (like ruining tasks or tampering with footage) to build up a secret prize pot.

The more successful their sabotage, the more money is added. At the end of each episode, the total prize is revealed and given to the unsuspecting contestants.
In the first episode, guest saboteur Jo Brand joins in as they create havoc during challenges like filming wedding videos and wellness activities.
In short: contestants think they’re competing in a serious business show — but it’s all a set-up, and the real game is the celebrities secretly causing mayhem to win them money.
Mr Dommett opened up about one moment in particular which left him holding back tears behind the scenes.
Speaking on the contestants' reactions, he noted: “It really was [emotional]. When someone goes onto a game show they know that they are trying to win money so they’ve kind of prepared themselves for that.

“With this show, there is something amazing about the contestants not knowing that they will hopefully all get to leave with some cash.
“At the end of each episode, we appear going, ‘by the way here’s thousands of pounds you didn’t know you were going to win’. It would take them all by surprise.
“They would cry, we would cry, the production team would cry! Before we got the chance to ask, they would all be telling us what they needed the money for.
“You really get a sense of how much it means to people. I really loved that part of the show and it made the sabotaging element a little bit easier.

“The contestants on this show really feel like they’ve earned it and it feels really special.”
Teasing viewers on what they can expect, he touched on a favourite moment of his and said: “Myself and Sam were dressed as cupids on the edge of a lake whilst the contestants were attempting a big obstacle course on the lake.
“The aim was for us to squirt water at them to try and get them off of the course. They had no clue it was us, they just thought it was some random crew members.
