John Simm has offered fans a glimpse of what lies ahead in the sixth series of ITV's Brighton-set detective drama Grace.

The actor, who portrays Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, addressed the ominous threat that concluded the previous series, revealing that the menacing warning about Bruno from the Benchdale Gang will loom large over the new episodes.

"That chilling warning that he gives at the end of the last series that they'll be coming for Bruno," Mr Simm explained.

Speaking exclusively to GB News and other media outlets, he continued: "So we find him and Glenn with that hanging over them, really."

When asked what viewers can expect from series six, the actor explained: "Everybody being investigated, and also that chilling warning that he gives at the end of the last series that they'll be coming for Bruno The Benchdale Gang.

"They'll be coming from Bruno. So we find him and Glen with that hanging over them, really. But you know, we're straight into a new case.

"You know, every week it's a new case but in the background is this specter and this threat that he is to Grace, who, I have to say, makes a huge mistake and doesn't tell Cleo - which I don't agree with him.

"He's a good guy, Grace, but I don't agree with him when he keeps these secrets. So, yeah. So that's where we find him."

Despite this ongoing danger, the detective and his team will immediately dive into fresh investigations, with Mr Simm confirming viewers can expect new cases alongside the continuing threat.

The aftermath of the Cassian Pewe scandal continues to cast a shadow over the entire team, with investigations into their conduct still ongoing as the new series begins.

Adding to the tension, Mr Simm revealed that his character commits a crucial error in judgement by withholding information from his partner Cleo, played by Zoë Tapper.

Beyond the professional pressures, Grace faces considerable upheaval in his personal life as wedding preparations with Cleo are supposed to be underway.

Mr Simm suggested his character won't be focused on the finer details of the ceremony, noting: "I don't think he'll be choosing the colours of the napkins and things like that! He's pretty busy, but so is she."

The couple are also navigating the emotional weight of losing a baby, while Bruno's sudden presence in their lives adds further complexity, alongside unresolved matters concerning Sandy.

Meanwhile, DI Glenn Branson becomes particularly driven to bring down the gang, with Mr Simm revealing that his colleague's determination takes him as far as Munich in pursuit of justice.

The sixth series will comprise four standalone films adapted from Peter James's bestselling novels, titled Left You Dead, Capture You Dead, Dead Man's Game, and One Of Us Is Dead.

Returning alongside Simm and Campbell are Laura Elphinstone as DS Bella Moy, Brad Morrison as DC Nick Nicholl, and Juliette Motamed as DC Vee Wilde, with guest appearances from Rishi Nair, Ali Khan, Sara Powell, Chizzy Akudolu, Dylan Corbett-Bader, Peter De Jersey and Amir Wilson.

Reflecting on his longest-running role, Mr Simm described the production as uniquely familial, with the same crew returning year after year.

"Every time we start again and walk on set, it feels like coming home," he said, adding that he would gladly continue for as long as audiences want it.

The fifth series ranked among ITV's most-watched dramas of 2025, with all five series accumulating over 16 million ITVX streams.

Series six of ITV Grace starts on Sunday, March 29 at 8pm.
