Helen Flanagan has revealed her hopes of making a comeback to Coronation Street, detailing a clear vision for her character's return to the cobbles.

The actress, who portrayed Rosie Webster from 2000 until her maternity leave in 2018, explained she would "absolutely love to return," adding: "It feels like home."

Ms Flanagan has specific ideas about how she'd like to see Rosie back on screen, suggesting the character could become a barmaid and even have a soap wedding.

Speaking to The Mirror, she shared: "I would love Rosie to come back as an iconic barmaid and have a Corrie wedding as it's the only wedding I'd be getting at the moment, but they haven't been in touch yet, it would be so perfect as I only live around the corner," the 35-year-old explained.

Before her potential Corrie return, viewers will see Ms Flanagan on the fourth series of Celebrity Ex On The Beach, which premieres on Tuesday.

The mother-of-three found signing up for the dating programme an easy decision when approached last November.

"I have always loved it," she told the publication. "When I was asked, it was November and freezing in the UK, and I just thought, 'How fun?' I was single, so why not?"

The actress described the experience as thoroughly enjoyable, particularly valuing the opportunity to bond with fellow female contestants.

"I had the best time," she revealed. "What I loved most was the girl time. There was such a gorgeous group of girls, and I don't often get that kind of social time in my everyday life."

The actress teased that the series contains plenty of "drama" and "juicy" moments, with numerous unexpected twists throughout filming.

Ms Flanagan's participation in the dating show has attracted criticism on social media, with some questioning whether a mother of three should appear on such programmes.

The actress remains defiant in the face of such comments, viewing her involvement as empowering rather than inappropriate.

"There have been comments on social media suggesting I shouldn't be doing a show like that as a mum of three, but no one would say that about a dad," she stated.

Ms Flanagan is mother to Matilda, 10, Delilah, seven, and Charlie, five, following her split from footballer Scott Sinclair in July 2022 after 13 years together.

She previously appeared on Celebs Go Dating in 2024, where she caused a stir by revealing a secret relationship with footballer Robbie Talbot.

Ms Flanagan maintains close ties with her former Coronation Street colleagues, describing them as family rather than mere co-workers.

She singled out Brooke Vincent, who played her on-screen sister Sophie Webster, along with Sally Dynevor and Michael Le Vell as particularly important figures in her life.

Vincent and Dynevor recently attended a performance of Shelagh Stephenson's play The Memory Of Water, in which Ms Flanagan appeared.

Having spent her formative years in the spotlight after joining the soap at just nine years old, the actress has developed resilience to public scrutiny.

"Being in the spotlight is all I have ever known," she reflected. "I think you naturally grow a thicker skin."
