Hairy Bikers star Si King previously admitted that he doesn’t “have it in his heart and soul” to continue working on TV without his long-term friend and co-star Dave Myers.
It was announced yesterday that Myers had died at the age of 66 following a two-year cancer battle – after recently returning to TV with his sidekick.
The pair had been friends for years before their first TV appearance together on The Hairy Bikers’ Cookbook in 2004.
King and Myers have since gone on to front a number of cooking shows together, with their most recent being The Hairy Bikers Go West – a big success with their fans.
However, since the news of Myers’ death, tributes from famous faces and fans from far and wide have flooded in, and many have wondered whether King will continue with the TV shows and cooking appearances, alone.
King previously told Express.co.uk he wouldn’t want to carry on as he addressed his future: “I probably would [quit]. I wouldn’t want to make shows that Dave and I make.

“That would be it. I wouldn’t have it in my heart and soul, we were the Hairy Bikers. He’s like my brother.”
On Thursday, King announced their partnership had come to an end and wrote a statement on their shared Instagram: “I'm afraid I bear some sad news. Most of you will know Dave has been fighting cancer for the past couple of years.
"Last night, on 28th February 2024, with Lili, Dave's wife, his family, close friend David and myself by his side, he passed away peacefully at home.
“All who knew Dave are devastated at his passing. His beloved wife brought him such happiness as did her children, Iza and Sergiu who Dave loved like his own.
"Personally, I am not sure I can put into words on how I feel at the moment. My best friend is on a journey that for now, I can't follow.”
King concluded that he would miss his best friend "every day and the bond and friendship we shared over half a lifetime".
Last year, shortly after Myers returned to work on TV, the pair discussed how they first met and bonded over “a curry”.
Joining the BBC Breakfast team, Myers proudly expressed: “32 years now. Yeah, way before the Bikers started! We were mates, tootling around on our motorbikes, eating far too much. And the odd drink. Things haven’t changed much.

“It was a curry and a poppadum,” King quickly interjected before Myers added: “Over a pool table in a pub in Newcastle.”
King said: “I put my money on the table, you when you when you used to put your money on the table to let people know you were next.
“And we just went, 'Oh no, somebody else take the game’, because Dave and I were just cracking on.”
