Gregg Wallace has launched his comeback to cooking television less than a year after he was axed from his role at the BBC.

The former MasterChef judge will front a marathon 12-hour live broadcast on TikTok, titled Gregg's Kitchen.

The 61-year-old is hosting the lengthy cookathon alongside various guests, including the owners of Malik Butchers, a Wolverhampton-based halal meat business with a significant social media following.

The venture represents Mr Wallace's first major return to live cooking content since his departure from the BBC last summer.

Malik Butchers, which bills itself as "Britain's favourite halal butchers" and claims to sell the "UK's most expensive halal sarnie", is sponsoring the broadcast alongside Mr Wallace.

In a promotional video shared on Malik Butchers' Facebook page, Mr Wallace outlined his plans for the extensive broadcast.

"We are going to be cooking some amazing dishes, we are going to have some incredible guests, lots of cookery, lots of live chat and more importantly lots of very good offers for you to buy on TikTok shop," he said.

Manny Malik, who operates the butchers with his brother Adnaan, described the event as an opportunity for viewers to engage directly with the cooking process and purchase the ingredients being prepared on screen.

Mr Wallace has been active on social media since leaving traditional broadcasting, posting workout content and offering personalised video messages through Cameo.

He has also been working as a life coach during his time away from mainstream television.

Mr Wallace was dismissed by the BBC last July following an investigation into historical misconduct claims spanning nearly two decades.

The inquiry, conducted by law firm Lewis Silkin, examined 83 separate allegations against the television personality.

Of those complaints, 45 were ultimately substantiated by investigators. The majority of upheld claims concerned inappropriate sexual language and humour in the workplace, with incidents predominantly occurring between 2005 and 2018.

A smaller number of verified allegations related to other forms of unsuitable language and instances of being in a state of undress.

One complaint of unwelcome physical contact was also confirmed by the review.

Mr Wallace had stepped away from his MasterChef presenting duties in November 2024 whilst the investigation was ongoing, ending a partnership with the programme that began in 2005.

Mr Wallace subsequently issued a public apology, stating he was "deeply sorry for any distress caused" and maintaining that he "never set out to harm or humiliate" anyone.

His departure was not the only change at the long-running cookery competition.

His former presenting partner John Torode was also let go by the BBC after a separate allegation of using an extremely offensive racist term in the workplace in 2018 was upheld.

Mr Torode has denied the claim, stating he cannot recall the incident and does not believe it occurred.

The pair have since been replaced on MasterChef by food critic Grace Dent and chef Anna Haugh.
