Gordon Ramsay has distracted fans of Sir David and Lady Victoria Beckham thanks to his outfit choice for an evening celebration after his footballer pal's investiture at Windsor Castle on Tuesday.

Sir David marked the momentous occasion with an extravagant celebration at Mr Ramsay's prestigious Chelsea establishment, gathering with his inner circle for an opulent dinner that stretched into the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The exclusive soirée, orchestrated by Mr Ramsay as a personal tribute to his longtime friend, saw guests departing the Michelin-starred venue around 1am.

The evening's festivities represented a fitting conclusion to what Mr Beckham described as an intensely emotional day, having received his knighthood from King Charles in recognition of his contributions to sport and charitable endeavours.

The intimate gathering brought together the Beckham family's closest relatives and friends for the milestone celebration.

Lady Victoria, 51, accompanied her husband alongside their children Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14. Cruz's partner, Jackie Apostel, 29, joined the family group.

Both sets of parents attended the festivities, with Sir David's mother, Sandra, and father Ted Beckham present alongside Lady Victoria's parents, Tony and Jackie Adams. The former footballer's sister, Joanne, and his closest friend, Dave Gardner, were amongst the select guests.

The Spice Girl singer's sister Louise Adams also attended with her three children - Libby, Finley, and Tallulah - who rarely appear at public events, while the evening's hosts, Gordon and Tana Ramsay, completed the exclusive guest list.

Soon after the event, Lady Victoria shared intimate snaps from the get-together on her social media, with the fashion designer publishing a number of photos featuring her family and friends on Instagram.

And while many of the reactions were celebratory towards the Beckhams and Sir David's achievement, others were more distracted by chef Mr Ramsay's footwear.

Despite the black-tie nature of the event, Mr Ramsay teamed his dinner suit with a pair of white Nike trainers, and it didn't go unnoticed by Instagram users.

"Gordon in trainers. Have a word @victoriabeckham," one Instagram user wrote in response to Lady Victoria's post, while a second teased: "@gordongram could've made an effort! trainers with a suit mate, you're so down with the kids."

"What the devil is on Gordon’s feet!?" a third questioned before a fourth also sarcastically weighed in: "Great pics! Nice to see Gordon Ramsay put his best shoes on for the occasion! Definitely a conversation starter anyway!"

"Ramsey with the air 1s legend," another added, referring to the Air Force One make of shoes. A second similarly echoed: "Ramsey in his AF1s," followed by a laughing emoji.

While Mr Ramsay's outfit choice certainly sparked conversation, other fans were more concerned with the fact that this was yet another family occasion that eldest son Brooklyn had refused to attend.

"Beautiful family. Sad that their eldest son wasn’t present," one fan pointed out, before a second concurred: "Such a shame Brooklyn didn’t think his father worthy enough such a great honour to attend and celebrate." (sic)

The celebration notably proceeded without the presence of their eldest son, 25, who remained in the United States during his father's historic day.

Whilst his siblings gathered at Windsor Castle and the subsequent Chelsea dinner, Brooklyn attended a business conference in Atlanta, Georgia, promoting his Cloud23 hot sauce venture.

The aspiring chef and his wife, Nicola Peltz, made no acknowledgement of the knighthood on social media platforms.

Sources indicate Brooklyn declined to address questions about his family during the Atlanta event, as speculation continues regarding tensions within the Beckham clan.

Lady Victoria's Instagram post celebrating her husband's achievement featured their three youngest children.

Meanwhile, Sir David took to his own Instagram page to acknowledge the efforts put in to celebrating his honour.

Sir David expressed gratitude on social media, referring to Victoria as "My lady" and posting affectionately about "my boys" Romeo and Cruz.

He particularly acknowledged Mr Ramsay's contribution, sharing a kitchen photograph with the chef and his team, thanking them for "making a special night even more special."

The celebrity chef curated a unique menu befitting the occasion. Diners savoured scallops adorned with caviar and delicate edible flowers, whilst truffle was generously shaved over plates in a display of gastronomic luxury.

The main courses reflected personal preferences, with beef Wellington served to most guests whilst Lady Victoria, who eschews red meat, enjoyed sea bass.

For dessert, Mr Ramsay prepared a sophisticated interpretation of Sir David's beloved jam roly-poly with custard.

According to a friend present at the dinner, the atmosphere remained relaxed despite the grandeur, with running jokes about addressing the guest of honour as "Sir David" providing entertainment throughout the night.

Lady Victoria's nieces also documented the celebration extensively on social media, offering followers intimate glimpses of the exclusive gathering.
