Ellie Costello has revealed why she will be absent from GB News Breakfast, telling viewers she is “so excited” about her upcoming plans.
Speaking on air, she explained that her honeymoon, which had been delayed for months after her wedding in the South of France, is finally happening.
The long-awaited trip will see her heading off on a dream safari, something she’s never experienced before.
Speaking on The People's Channel this morning, Ellie said: "It’s a horrible time of the year. I need a glass of wine.”
Eamonn Holmes pointed out: “You’re getting out of it.”
Ellie said: “I am tomorrow. Yes. I’m off my honeymoon tomorrow.”
Eamonn joked: “Yeah. I mean, she got married last summer, and now she’s got the honeymoon.”
Ellie asked: “Can I tell you why? We had to have this gap because we got married six months ago, and you all know it was an extravaganza in South France.”

Eamonn said: “ Yes I went to your three-day wedding.”
Ellie explained: “And that took so much planning because there wasn’t a wedding planner. I was the wedding planner and it took it out of me.
"It knocked the stuffing out of me. So then for the honeymoon, which I’m also planning, I was like, I need to give myself some time to plan this, right?”
Eamonn responded: “And what a plan. Can we tell people what you’ve planned?"

Ellie explained: “To go on a safari and I’ve never been on a safari. And it’s been my dream holiday. You’ve been before, haven’t you? And you said it was one of the best holidays ever.”
Ellie, who tied the knot with her beau Gerard Durkan in an intimate ceremony at Chelsea Old Town Hall on April 12 also had an extravagant South of France wedding with many members of the GB News family.
The GB News host opted for a long-sleeved, buttoned white mini dress for her civil ceremony, she chose a traditional design by Allure Bridals and Jimmy for her nuptials in the South of France.
The couple also honoured their Irish heritage with an Irish band and an open mic session on the Sunday evening.
Among the guests was her GB News co-presenter Stephen Dixon, with whom she also hosts the breakfast show which recently won a TRIC award for best news programme, on Thursdays and Fridays.
"It was the wedding of our dreams," says Ellie.
"The atmosphere was electric and our guests told us they thought they were in a film.
"It's everything we could have possibly hoped for."
