Viewers were stunned by the threat of violence against a teacher

Educating Yorkshire fans were let concerned during the last episode when headteacher Matthew Burton’s safety was threatened by a student.

The Channel 4 show attracted a strong following when it first aired in 2013, and its reboot this year has also proven to be popular.

Mr Burton starred in the initial series and has since progressed to headteacher of the school in Dewsbury, Yorkshire.

In the latest instalment, fans were horrified as one student threatened to "burn down his home" as well as the school.

Sunday’s episode focused on how the staff at the school were often tasked with difficult behaviours.

English teacher Mr Burton was called to assist after one particular student had been removed from a classroom.

After being called in for back up, Mr Burton was informed by other staff members that the youngster had been making some serious threats.

He’s making threats to you, threats to your house and threats to burn the school down,” another teacher explained.

Someone else added: “He needs to leave site, I've spoken to his mum and mum has given him permission to leave, so we just need to escort him offsite.”

A third described how the student was “not in a state of mind to even have a conversation.”

The student was filmed punching school property while he was escorted away by four staff members.

Later, Mr Burton returned to his office, clearly impacted by the worrying interaction.

He opened up to assistant headteacher, Mrs Delaney-Hudson, becoming emotional.

"I know he’s going through a lot, but I’ve got three little ones at home,” the teacher reflected.

You deal with it, don’t you, but to threaten to burn my house down and do all that stuff, that's not right.”

He later added to the cameras: “The minute that you think the job is easy, or you’ve got a really easy day in front of you, something will happen to change that.”
