The presenter shared a picture on what would have been his mother's 97th birthday

Eamonn Holmes shared a sweet photo of his late mother surrounded by her children as he marked what would have been her 97th birthday.

The GB News presenter posted the picture on X, alongside a caption which read: "It would have been my Mum’s 97th birthday today if she had lived.


"Here she is with all her boys, my brothers, at 90. It’s like yesterday. We all miss her so much and we all still Love you Mum. #RIP."

The snap showed his mother standing in front of a cake as her five sons stood around her, smiling.

Fans were quick to share sympathetic messages, with one responding: "All boys... I am a old mum of 4 boys... Us mums of boys feel so loved and looked after Eamonn... RIP Mrs Holmes... she looked lovely."

"Don't think you ever stop missing them," a second shared.

Another commented: "That’s a lovely photo," while another penned: "Our beautiful mums are always with us in our hearts."

"Lovely photo," someone else echoed. The post comes soon after Eamonn shared a similar post about his parents in October.

Sharing a black and white photo of his parents on his Instagram, he wrote about “void” his they have left in his life in a rare insight into his personal grief.

The People's Channel star asked fans following him who he looked the most like based on the sweet snap, which showed a young couple smiling for the camera.

“Who do u think I look more like - my Mum or my Dad? Josie or Leonard?” he wrote.

The post continued: “Although they have both passed away, I hear each of them in my head every day.

“I know what they would think and how they would advise me. When they would agree with me and when they wouldn't.

“Laughter was a big part of all of our lives because of them.”

Ending the post, he poignantly added: “What a void they have left,” along with a sad face emoji.

Eamonn celebrated his own birthday just a day prior to his late mother's, with the presenter having turned 66 on Wednesday.

He once again took to social media to share a picture of a cake made by his GB News colleagues.

He penned: "Look what my friends and colleagues at GB News got me... Looked too good to eat but then that idea wore off / Deee - lish." (sic)
